Grant Writer – Remote Contract Work (Entry Level)

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a Grant Writer to join our team on a temporary contract basis. You’ll provide grant writing support and technical assistance to organisations pursuing funding for workforce development and related initiatives. This role focuses on the pre-award process, including identifying grant opportunities, writing proposals, proofreading, and fostering collaborations. Some travel may be required.

This is a fully remote position with flexible scheduling.

What You’ll Do

• Provide technical assistance to applicants and help identify funding opportunities
• Develop materials to support the proposal development process, including templates, grant guideline summaries, checklists, and written correspondence
• Facilitate workshops and seminars on the grant writing process
• Prepare grant proposal packages and support organisations through the submission process
• Liaise with stakeholders to encourage collaboration
• Interpret funding opportunities, write project narratives, and develop budgets
• Guide applicants in completing grant application forms and uploading documents to submission portals
• Maintain records and documentation for project management and reporting
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Background Needed

A bachelor’s degree plus two years of related experience in grant proposal development, the pre-award process, and project management are required. However, we welcome applications from candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is highly motivated and energetic, able to work independently or as part of a team
• Has excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills
• Can work effectively with diverse groups and facilitate meetings
• Quickly learns new policies, procedures, and regulations from different grantmakers
• Is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite
• Has experience with grant portals and submission systems
• Can coordinate and prioritise multiple tasks efficiently
• Has database management skills
• Understands workforce development and related funding trends
• Can maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Holds a valid driving licence (travel may be required)

Contract length: Temporary position, approximately 8.5 months with potential for extension depending on funding availability.

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
