We are seeking an experienced writing coach to help high school students develop compelling, authentic college application essays. This is a flexible, contract-based remote position perfect for someone passionate about helping students communicate their experiences, perspectives, and goals effectively through writing.
Responsibilities:
• Guide students through brainstorming and developing personal statements and supplemental essays
• Strengthen essay organization and storytelling techniques
• Provide detailed, constructive feedback and revision guidance
• Help students maintain an authentic and distinctive voice throughout their application materials
• Collaborate with other members of the student support team to ensure written materials align with broader application strategy
Skills/background needed:
• Strong background in English, writing, journalism, communications, or a related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid understanding of essay structure, storytelling, grammar, and revision techniques
• Ability to provide thoughtful, constructive feedback while preserving a student’s authentic voice
• Professional, organized approach to independent remote work
• Experience working with high school students on written work (preferred)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with others
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
