About the role
This entry-level position combines writing, digital communication, and outreach coordination. You’ll create clear, engaging content for blogs, newsletters, emails, websites, and social media. You’ll also help identify partnership opportunities, conduct research, and support relationship-building with external organisations and stakeholders.
This is a beginner-friendly role designed for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, curious, and enthusiastic about making a real difference.
What you’ll do
Content Development
Write clear, accessible content for blogs, newsletters, emails, websites, and social media. Develop and edit materials using plain language and accessibility best practices. Prepare content for digital, email, and social channels. Maintain editorial calendars and support timely delivery of communications.
Strategic Outreach & Engagement
Research potential partner organisations to identify collaboration opportunities. Draft outreach materials such as introductory letters and emails. Support relationship-building by managing contact lists and tracking partner interactions. Monitor external communications for cross-promotion opportunities.
Programme Support & Collaboration
Help develop outreach plans by gathering background information and identifying audience needs. Support communication projects including research, content audits, and special initiatives. Assist with events, activities, and partner communications.
Skills/background needed
Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear language. Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or similar. Understanding of marketing and outreach approaches. Comfortable interacting with external partners. Ability to work collaboratively with team members. Strong planning and organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with team communication and file-sharing tools.
Preferred: Experience writing success stories or testimonial content. Familiarity with email campaign platforms such as Mailchimp. Experience supporting webinars or digital campaigns. Knowledge of plain language principles, digital accessibility, or basic SEO. Interest in disability employment or workforce development.
