Customer Service Chat Representative (Entry Level) – Work From Home

This is a fully remote position where you’ll be the first point of contact for customers, supporting their inquiries and needs by answering questions about policies, rates, billing, and general account information.

In this role you will:

Deliver excellent customer service while finding solutions within compliance and legal requirements. Communicate with customers and colleagues via phone, chat, and email while using multiple systems and platforms. Receive and respond to inquiries, resolve moderately complex issues, and evaluate information within your authority limits. Document all customer interactions thoroughly. Escalate issues that need advanced support. Build your knowledge through self-directed learning and stay informed about policy guidelines and updates. Listen actively to customer concerns and help identify opportunities for improvement. Partner with various departments to respond to customer needs and adhere to your assigned schedule.

The Day-to-Day

You’ll interact with customers and colleagues across multiple channels, accessing account information and working within multiple systems to resolve inquiries. You’ll document customer interactions, identify trends, make recommendations to leadership, and work with other departments to address customer needs. You’ll need to maintain a quiet, distraction-free work environment with high-speed internet.

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Contract length: Ongoing, full-time position.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 11:30am-8:00pm during the paid training period (approximately 12-15 weeks). After training, Monday-Friday 8:00am-8:00pm in your local time zone.

Skills/background needed:

No prior customer service experience required, though 1-3 years of customer service experience is preferred. Experience in a call centre environment or high-volume customer support setting is helpful but not essential. You should have intermediate computer skills and be able to navigate multiple systems simultaneously. Basic troubleshooting of equipment like headsets and internet connectivity is helpful. Experience with Microsoft Office tools is a plus but not required. High School Diploma or equivalent required.

What you’ll need:

A quiet, distraction-free home environment and high-speed internet connection. The ability to sit or stand for extended periods, occasionally reach overhead and below knee level, and operate a computer continuously throughout your shift. You should be able to listen to and understand others at normal speaking levels, read and verify information visually, and use a keyboard and office equipment repetitively.
