About This Role
We’re looking for an entry-level Desktop Support Analyst to join our IT support team. In this role, you’ll provide friendly, professional technical help to users across the organisation. You’ll troubleshoot common issues, install software and hardware, and learn industry-standard support processes while working alongside experienced team members who will guide your development.
This is a hands-on position perfect for someone starting a career in IT support. Full training will be provided – no prior experience necessary.
What You’ll Do
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
• Provide first-level technical support for desktop computers, laptops, printers, and standard workplace software
• Help with hardware and software installation, equipment setup, and basic configuration following established procedures
• Support routine maintenance tasks, including software updates and security checks
• Use remote support tools to diagnose and fix common user issues
Ticket & Request Management
• Log and track support requests using our help desk system
• Resolve assigned tickets while meeting service level targets
• Escalate complex issues to senior team members with clear documentation
• Keep accurate records of all work completed
Teamwork & Learning
• Collaborate with IT teams and business users to resolve technical issues
• Participate in onboarding support and equipment deployment activities
• Maintain professionalism when supporting users in person, by phone, via chat, or remotely
• Attend team meetings and training to build technical knowledge
• Help maintain support documentation and knowledge base articles
Asset Management
• Track and prepare desktop equipment for deployment
• Assist with inventory record updates
Working Conditions
• On-site position: 5 days per week at the workplace
• Flexible hours including occasional evenings and weekends as needed
• Ability to lift and move desktop equipment
• Comfortable working at a computer for extended periods
Skills/background needed: Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 11), strong customer service skills, problem-solving ability, clear communication with both technical and non-technical users, willingness to learn new tools and processes, attention to detail, and the ability to follow procedures and policies. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
What Will Help You Stand Out
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in desktop support, help desk, technical support, or similar technology roles
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and OneDrive
• Basic knowledge of IT security practices, including password management and device protection
• Experience with remote support tools
• Industry certifications such as A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications (preferred)
• An Associate’s Degree or higher in a related field (preferred)
