We’re hiring a Social Media Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a fully remote position where you’ll work from home and manage our social media presence across multiple platforms.
About the Role
As a Social Media Specialist, you’ll be the creative force behind our day-to-day social media management. You’ll develop content strategies, create compelling posts, manage our online community, and track what’s working to continuously improve our presence. This is a hands-on role where you’ll wear many hats—from content creator to community manager to data analyst.
You’ll work within our marketing and communications team, collaborating with colleagues to identify stories, coordinate content, and build meaningful connections with our audience across platforms.
What You’ll Be Doing
Content Creation and Channel Management (60%)
• Manage our social media accounts day-to-day: scheduling posts, publishing content, monitoring comments, and engaging with our community
• Create engaging, audience-focused content in multiple formats—short videos, graphics, written copy, stories, reels, and more
• Write and adapt social copy that matches our brand voice while tailoring content for different platforms and audiences
• Identify interesting stories, moments, and events to translate into relevant social content
• Attend and cover events and activities, including occasional evening and weekend assignments
• Collaborate with teammates and other departments to develop high-quality multimedia content
• Build genuine engagement with our audience by joining relevant conversations and encouraging meaningful interactions around our content
• Respond to community questions and comments professionally and promptly
• Ensure all content reflects our brand standards and commitment to accessibility
Editorial Planning and Platform Strategy (20%)
• Help plan and manage our social media calendar in collaboration with leadership, balancing priorities with timely opportunities
• Recommend platform-specific approaches based on audience needs, content performance, and emerging trends
• Translate organizational priorities into social media goals and strategies for each platform
• Coordinate social content with broader marketing campaigns, events, and announcements
• Stay informed about social platform changes, algorithm updates, and industry best practices, then recommend adjustments
Measurement and Optimization (10%)
• Track and analyze social media performance using platform analytics and reporting tools
• Use data insights to recommend improvements and optimizations
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full-time, permanent position.
Skills/background needed: No prior experience required. We’ll provide full training. Ideally, you’ll have:
• Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest)
• Basic writing and editing skills
• Comfort with learning new tools and platforms quickly
• A creative mindset and ability to think about content from an audience perspective
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Enthusiasm for collaboration and a positive attitude
Experience with graphic design, video production, or social media analytics is helpful but not required.
