Social Media Coordinator – Entry Level (Part Time)

About the role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Social Media Coordinator to create, edit, and manage short-form video content that drives brand awareness and engagement. You’ll film and edit videos for TikTok and Instagram Reels, maintain consistent posting schedules, monitor social media trends, and work with our team to amplify our community experiences. This is a flexible, part-time position—perfect for students or anyone seeking flexible work hours. Full training will be provided, and no prior professional experience is required if you’re passionate about social media and video content.

What You Will Do:

Content Capture

Film and photograph events, activations, and community experiences at assigned locations. Publish content in real time during events and openings. Capture content that highlights local businesses and helps drive community awareness. You’ll be comfortable filming on location and appearing on camera as needed, representing our official social channels authentically.

Content Creation and Editing

Edit short-form video content for TikTok and Instagram Reels using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar software. Create engaging videos with captions and branded text overlays. Optimize content for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Monitor comments and direct messages on assigned channels, responding to audience questions and flagging important inquiries for the team. Maintain a consistent daily posting schedule with a minimum of 3 Stories and 1 scheduled feed post across platforms.

Social Media and Community Support

Monitor social media trends and identify opportunities to connect relevant conversations to local businesses and community experiences. Work with the team to build out a monthly content calendar. Coordinate filming opportunities with local businesses. Create monthly summaries of social media performance and share insights with the team.

Skills/background needed:

Demonstrated content creation ability with experience managing social media accounts. A portfolio or examples of your previous short-form video work (TikTok, Instagram Reels, or similar platforms). Comfort being on camera and representing a brand authentically. Familiarity with current social media trends and understanding of what content resonates with younger audiences. Enthusiasm for learning video editing software. Part-time students are encouraged to apply.

Contract length:

Initial 6-month term with potential to extend based on performance and business needs.

Work Environment:

24 to 29 hours per week. This is a flexible, part-time schedule; however, a minimum of two days per week on-site during weekday hours is required. Approximately two weekend days per month and select holidays may be required based on business needs. This is an in-person role—you’ll create, film, and edit content while on-site at the assigned location.

What We Provide:

A basic content starter kit including ring light, tripod, and microphone. Access to a company device and editing software subscriptions. Full training on all tools and platforms. A supportive team environment where you’ll learn and grow. Flexible scheduling designed around your availability.

Rate:

Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Location:

Local positions available.

Note on Content Ownership:

All content created as part of this role will be owned by the organisation and the location, which retains full rights to repost, edit, and distribute across all channels. You’ll be asked to sign a standard content release form.
