Role: Social Media & Content Coordinator

About the role
We’re looking for a creative, organised student to join our marketing and communications team. You’ll gain hands-on experience in social media content strategy, creation, and management across multiple platforms. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop real-world skills in digital marketing, content production, and trend analysis while working alongside experienced professionals.
No prior professional experience is required—we’ll provide full training and support as you learn. What we’re looking for is enthusiasm for social media, a keen eye for emerging trends, and a willingness to be creative and collaborative.
What you’ll do
Content Creation & Strategy
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop engaging content ideas across platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat
• Create short-form videos and other content that showcase our brand in a positive light
• Write compelling captions for social media posts tailored to each platform and audience
• Collaborate with team members on content production, including photography and videography projects
• Monitor competitors and industry peers to identify new trends and opportunities
• Research emerging social media trends and suggest ways to incorporate them into our strategy
Analytics & Collaboration
• Monitor social media performance and analytics to understand what resonates with our audience
• Review partner channels to identify collaboration and content amplification opportunities
• Work closely with our social media specialist and creative team on both long-term campaigns and daily tasks
Event Coverage
• Attend campus events to capture photo and video content for social media
• Assist with live content such as Instagram Stories, real-time updates, and behind-the-scenes footage
• Be flexible and available for coverage during high-priority events throughout the year
• Interact confidently with students, staff, and attendees while capturing content
Skills and experience we’re looking for
Required:
• Genuine enthusiasm for social media and regular use of platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat
• Strong curiosity about social media trends and how they can be applied
• Reliability and flexibility to support events when needed
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Preferred:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
• Basic understanding of digital marketing principles
• Experience with content management systems or social media scheduling tools
• Familiarity with design tools like Canva
• Video editing experience using either in-app tools or dedicated software
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
No formal qualifications needed—we welcome enthusiastic beginners and will provide all necessary training.
