We’re looking for a Social Media Manager to support and grow a brand’s presence across social platforms.
This is a fully remote, independent contractor opportunity. You’ll take ownership of the social media function, bring ideas to the table, and keep content moving forward. We’re looking for someone proactive and self-directed—not someone who waits for every instruction.
What You’ll Do
• Develop and manage monthly content plans that support consistent daily posting across social platforms
• Batch-create and prepare content in advance to maintain a steady content calendar
• Identify content themes, campaigns, and opportunities that align with the brand
• Contribute ideas and recommendations that strengthen social media direction
• Write engaging captions, calls to action, and social copy that match the brand’s voice
• Schedule and publish approved content across relevant social platforms
• Repurpose existing photo and video assets into additional content
• Plan and communicate what photo and video content should be captured for upcoming campaigns and social needs
• Create content briefs or guidance to help content creators understand what’s needed
• Organize social media content and digital assets for easy access and reuse
• Monitor content performance and use insights to improve future posts
• Stay aware of relevant social media trends and identify opportunities for the brand
• Communicate proactively about content needs, approvals, and priorities
Skills and Background We’re Looking For
• Demonstrated experience managing social media for a business or brand
• Ability to show previous work through a portfolio, examples, or relevant accounts
• Understanding of how brand voice, audience, and goals should influence content
• Comfort developing ideas and making recommendations
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek client input or approval
• Strong written communication and copywriting skills
• Understanding of short-form video and social-first content
• Ability to provide clear direction for photo and video content capture
• Comfort batching, planning, and scheduling content in advance
• Strong organizational skills with content calendars, deadlines, and digital assets
• Ability to interpret basic social media performance data and use it to improve content
• Reliable, responsive communication style and comfort working directly with business owners
A bonus if you have experience with social media strategy or visually driven consumer brands, but it’s not required.
This May Not Be the Right Fit If…
This role is not ideal if your experience is primarily limited to scheduling pre-created posts or if you prefer receiving detailed instructions for every piece of content. We’re looking for someone who can bring strong execution, initiative, and good judgment to the role.
