Technical Writer – Hardware Documentation (Entry Level)

We’re looking for an entry-level Technical Writer to join our team and support documentation across engineering, manufacturing, and operations. You’ll work with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to produce clear, accurate technical documentation that helps the organisation run smoothly.

This is a remote, full-time role offering comprehensive training and mentorship. No prior experience in this specific industry is required – we’ll teach you everything you need to know.

What you’ll do:

Support engineering teams in producing and maintaining technical documents including design specifications, test procedures, and review packages. You’ll attend team meetings, ask clarifying questions, and translate technical information into clear, organised documentation.

Help manage the organisation, tracking, and delivery of important documentation. Coordinate with multiple teams to ensure documents are complete, approved, and delivered on schedule.

Generate, edit, and maintain documentation including reports and compliance documents, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

Develop and maintain clear documentation of processes, system configurations, and operational procedures to support team reliability and regulatory compliance.

Help establish and maintain systems for organising, versioning, and accessing technical documentation so the right people can find what they need, when they need it.

Work with geographically distributed teams to ensure documentation stays consistent and accessible across locations.

Build and maintain templates for work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Review content drafted by team members for clarity and consistency.

Develop documentation standards and templates that work well as the team grows.

Skills and background needed:

Experience with technical writing in any field (aerospace, manufacturing, technology, or similar); we’ll train you in industry-specific knowledge.

Comfortable working directly with engineers and technical experts to understand content and turn it into clear, usable documentation.

Ability to create clear templates and review technical content for accuracy and consistency.

Self-directed and able to manage multiple tasks at once in a fast-moving environment.

Comfortable asking questions when requirements are unclear – we value clarity over assumptions.

Familiarity with Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive) or similar tools is helpful but not required.

What we offer:

Full training and onboarding to help you succeed in the role.

Mentorship from experienced team members.

A supportive, collaborative remote work environment.

Opportunities to grow your skills and move into senior or leadership roles as the team expands.

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Contract length: Full-time, permanent.

Location: Fully remote – work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection.

We’re committed to creating an inclusive environment and welcome applications from all backgrounds and experience levels.
