Purpose:
This is a one-year residential fellowship designed to support writers who are actively working on a manuscript and need dedicated time and financial support to complete their work. You’ll receive a stipend, housing, and meals, plus access to health insurance and support services. In return, you’ll make yourself available to support students interested in writing through informal mentoring and engagement with writing groups.
What You’ll Do:
During your fellowship year, you’ll focus on completing your writing project while living on-site. You’ll be available to meet with students interested in writing, support members of student literary organizations, and contribute informally to the creative writing community. You won’t hold any other employment during the fellowship and must not be enrolled in a degree programme.
Who We’re Looking For:
You should be a writer with a manuscript or writing project already underway that you’re serious about completing. We welcome writers of fiction, poetry, literary non-fiction, and drama. You don’t need to be previously published—we’re looking for writers at all stages of their careers who demonstrate strong literary skill, originality, and a genuine commitment to their craft.
Key qualities we value include dedication to writing, reliability, adaptability to a small-town environment, and genuine interest in supporting student writers. There are no requirements regarding age, gender, or marital status.
What the Fellowship Provides:
You’ll receive competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application. Housing will be provided (a house or apartment, furnished if needed based on your circumstances). Meals are included during the academic year when the institution is in session. You’ll also have access to health and dental insurance, long-term disability coverage, and an employee assistance programme.
Contract Length: One academic year (September through June)

What You’ll Submit:
Applications require the following documents in PDF format:
1. A current resume
2. A personal statement (approximately 500–750 words) explaining how the fellowship will help you complete your manuscript and describing your current progress. This statement should be submitted anonymously (no name or email in headers or footers).
3. A writing sample or manuscript excerpt (up to 20 pages, 12-point type, 1-inch margins, double-spaced except for poetry). Submit this anonymously as well.
Note: Do not use artificial intelligence in any application materials.

You must be authorised to work in your country of residence. You’ll need to complete a background check as part of the application process.
