Roles: As a Multimedia Journalist, you will research, develop, and produce accurate, timely, and engaging news and public information content. You’ll create written stories, photography, video, and digital content for news platforms and official communication channels. Reporting assignments cover a wide range of topics including government, culture, natural resources, public safety, health, education, economic development, and community issues affecting the wider public.
What you’ll do: Working under the direction of a senior communications leader, you will report on assigned topics, conduct interviews, gather information, and produce multimedia content. You’ll work across multiple platforms and formats—written articles, photography, video, and digital stories—to inform and engage audiences. This role supports transparency, public information sharing, and storytelling that preserves important narratives and community accomplishments through professional journalism.
Skills/background needed: No prior experience required. You should have strong written and verbal communication skills, basic familiarity with digital platforms, and a genuine interest in journalism and multimedia storytelling. Comfort with video, photography, or audio production is a plus but not essential—full training will be provided. You’ll need attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a collaborative approach to working with a communications team.
