We’re looking for an enthusiastic Grant Writer to join our team and support our organization’s fundraising efforts. In this role, you’ll identify funding opportunities, research potential grantmakers, and write compelling grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
This position plays a key role in securing funding to support our programming, education initiatives, community engagement efforts, and operational needs. You’ll work closely with our development team and program leadership to translate our organizational mission into persuasive funding proposals.
What You’ll Do
Grant Research & Prospect Identification
Identify and research potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies
Maintain a pipeline of prospective funders
Track deadlines and eligibility requirements for funding opportunities
Proposal Development
Write compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications
Prepare supporting materials including project descriptions, impact narratives, and program summaries
Collaborate with program staff to gather information about organizational initiatives
Grant Management & Reporting
Maintain a grant calendar to track submission deadlines and reporting requirements
Ensure timely submission of grant reports and compliance documentation
Track grant outcomes and funding results
Funder Relations & Collaboration
Support communication with foundation and government funders
Assist with scheduling and preparing for funder meetings
Work closely with the development team to align grant funding with organizational priorities
Contribute to overall fundraising strategy
Skills/Background Needed
Exceptional writing and editing ability
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to translate programming and initiatives into compelling narratives
Strategic thinking and problem-solving mindset
Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising practices is a plus
Experience in arts, culture, education, or community-based organizations is desirable but not required
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full-time, hybrid, or contract-based arrangements available.
