We’re looking for an entry-level assistant copy editor to join our editorial team. You’ll work on a variety of writing projects, helping to polish and refine content for accuracy, clarity, and style. No prior experience is required—we provide full training to get you up to speed.
This is a full-time, in-person position based at our office.
What you’ll do:
• Work directly with writers to copy edit multiple editorial projects each month, including fact-checking, improving story flow, and polishing final copy• Edit short- and long-form articles (500–1,000 words) for accuracy, grammar, and style consistency• Collaborate with senior editors to improve content quality and editorial processes• Help maintain and update our in-house style guide as needed
Skills/background needed:
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot grammar, spelling, and formatting errors• Familiarity with AP style (we’ll train you if you’re new to it)• Ability to fact-check and verify information accurately• Good time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects with shifting deadlines• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team• Experience with copy editing, technical writing, or communications is helpful but not required
