About the role:
We’re looking for a Technical Editor to join our team. You’ll work from home to review, edit, and prepare complex technical documents for publication. This role involves managing the complete editorial process—from initial manuscript through to final publication—while ensuring all content is accurate, clear, and meets established standards.
You’ll collaborate with researchers, engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to transform technical information into accessible, high-quality publications. What you’ll do:
- Review and edit technical reports, research publications, manuals, and digital content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Manage the full editorial lifecycle from manuscript development through final publication, including copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking.
- Verify references, citations, and source documentation to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Work with authors, researchers, engineers, and other team members to improve document quality without changing technical intent.
- Ensure all publications meet established style guides and editorial standards.
- Coordinate document reviews, manage versions, and help meet publication deadlines.
- Support digital publishing by preparing content for web publication.
- Recommend and help implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
Skills/background needed:
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and edit complex technical content while maintaining clarity for readers.
- Familiarity with grammar, style, formatting, and citation standards.
- Organisational skills and ability to manage multiple documents and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable collaborating with authors, researchers, and subject matter experts.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the editorial process.
- Experience with or willingness to learn standard editing and publishing tools.
