We’re looking for an entry-level Multimedia Journalist to produce, report, write, shoot, edit and publish news content across all platforms. You’ll create clear, engaging stories that matter to audiences.
What you’ll do:
• Report news stories for broadcast and digital platforms, explaining the background and details of events
• Arrange and conduct interviews with sources who can provide information about stories
• Review and edit copy for clarity, grammar, punctuation and style consistency
• Research and analyze background information to provide complete and accurate reporting
• Gather information through research, interviews and attendance at events
• Pitch story ideas to editors and producers that are relevant to the community
• Evaluate leads and tips to develop story concepts
• Shoot and edit news events and reports
• Write stories for web and digital platforms
• Engage with audiences on social media
• Meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments
• Ensure all content meets editorial and production quality standards
Skills/background needed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Fluency in English
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Strong on-air and on-camera presence
• Willingness to learn and adapt to feedback
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full time
