Customs Documentation Writer – No Experience Necessary

We are currently seeking a full-time Customs Documentation Writer to join our team. This is an on-site, in-person role based at our workplace location.

What You’ll Do:

In this role, you will manage daily shipment activities, prepare and file customs entry documents, track freight movement, and communicate with customers about their cargo status. Your key responsibilities will include:

· Provide administrative support to clients and maintain strong customer relationships

· Review documents carefully to identify errors, discrepancies, and potential issues, then apply solutions quickly

· Communicate clearly, professionally, and courteously with customers and colleagues

· Present information effectively and respond to questions from internal and external contacts

· Take initiative in resolving complex problems independently

· Track and monitor shipment movement through various ports and warehouse facilities

· Liaise with shipping partners to confirm arrival notifications

· Process warehouse and terminal fees

· Coordinate delivery orders with transport partners

· Prepare and file required customs documentation before shipments depart

· File U.S. Customs entries and related paperwork

· Handle data entry, document classification, photocopying, scanning, and document assembly

Skills/Background Needed:

· Experience with customs documentation or entry processing (prior experience helpful but not essential)

· Knowledge of commodity classification systems or willingness to learn

· Familiarity with government agencies and compliance processes, or ability to quickly understand them

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

· Accurate and speedy data entry

· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks

· Excellent written and verbal communication

· Organised approach to managing multiple shipment accounts

· Ability to take ownership of your work and maintain accountability
