Technical Writer – Documentation & Requirements (Entry Level)

We are looking for a Technical Writer to support the development and updating of capability requirements documentation. In this role, you will serve as a key contributor to requirement documentation efforts, working collaboratively with various teams to provide integrated support as prioritized. You’ll be embedded with acquisition and support personnel, helping to anticipate their needs and contribute to government innovation through clear, precise documentation.

What you’ll do:

• Support government representatives in formally documenting requirements, including initial capability documents, capability development documents, and capability production documents

• Assist in recommending timelines and milestones for documentation efforts and coordinate meetings to ensure all deadlines are met

• Gather and organize reference documents, liaise with stakeholders, and distribute meeting notes and project updates

• Prepare initial documentation drafts with technical language that accurately describes key requirements

• Review and edit final documents for technical accuracy, clarity, and consistent style

• Support government representatives during the requirement approval process

• Prepare supporting documents such as white papers, background papers, and briefings for key engagements and approvals

• Handle formal submission processes through appropriate channels

Skills/background needed:

• Bachelor’s degree or minimum four years of professional experience in a related field

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, accessible documents

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple documentation tasks simultaneously

• Comfortable collaborating with team members and government personnel on technical documentation

• Familiarity with SharePoint and photo editing software is a plus
