We’re looking for a technical editor to join our editing team. You’ll collaborate with writers, designers, and subject matter experts to develop and refine a wide variety of content, from webpages and emails to technical papers and presentations. Your role will be to ensure all content is technically accurate, clearly written, and meets style standards.
A typical day might include:
Copyediting or proofreading documents such as webpages, emails, technical papers, or presentations to meet grammar, punctuation, and style standards.
Collaborating with subject matter experts, designers, and writers to ensure content is accurate, clear, and well-structured.
Rewriting or refining content to align with established tone, voice, and messaging goals.
Working with other editors to meet deadlines and maintain consistency across projects.
Skills/background needed:
Strong proofreading, writing, grammar, and communication skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to receive feedback and incorporate it into your editing process.
A degree in English, technical communications, or a related field is preferred, but we welcome applicants from all backgrounds with relevant writing or editing experience.
It’s a plus if you have:
Experience editing technical documentation or working with engineering or high-tech content.
Familiarity with desktop publishing software or technical drawing software.
Knowledge of style guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style or the Gregg Reference Manual.
