About the role:
As a multimedia journalist, you’ll be involved in the complete news cycle—from pitching stories and conducting interviews to filming, editing, and publishing content. You’ll work across multiple platforms including live broadcasts, the station website, and social media channels like Facebook and Twitter. This role requires you to operate independently and manage all aspects of storytelling, from research through final publication.
You’ll gain real-world experience covering breaking news, community stories, and local events that matter to viewers. You’ll receive ongoing feedback and mentoring from experienced news professionals to support your professional development.
Skills/background needed:
• Strong writing and storytelling skills
• Ability to shoot and edit video using Adobe Premiere Pro (or willingness to learn)
• Experience or familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter)
• Organisational skills and ability to work independently
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcast communications, digital media, or a related field
