Service Writer – Entry Level

We’re looking for an entry-level Service Writer to join our team. No prior experience is necessary—we provide full training to help you succeed in this role.

As a Service Writer, you’ll be the communication hub between customers, technicians, and management. You’ll handle scheduling, prepare work estimates, manage paperwork, and ensure customers understand the work being performed on their vehicles. This role combines customer service with administrative support in a fast-paced office environment.

What You’ll Do:

Communicate with customers and team members to answer questions, explain repair details, schedule work, and address any concerns
Support the service team with daily administrative needs
Prepare invoices, repair orders, reports, and other documents using Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
Check customer account status and payment information before scheduling work
Answer phones, take messages, and direct calls appropriately
Process payments by credit card, cash, and charge account, with proper authorization
Maintain filing systems, inventory records, and database information
Estimate, schedule, and invoice repairs accurately
Coordinate road call services and follow up to ensure timely completion
Handle general office duties including ordering supplies, maintaining records, and basic bookkeeping
Sort and distribute incoming mail, faxes, and emails
Manage cash drawer and petty cash responsibly
Keep the office area clean and organized

Skills/background needed:

High school diploma or equivalent
Basic computer skills (experience with Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and word processing is helpful but not required)
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Customer service experience or a customer-focused mindset
Willingness to learn about vehicle repair and maintenance
Ability to multitask and stay organized
Reliable and punctual attendance

Working Conditions:

This is an on-site position based at the workplace. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor areas, with exposure to varying temperatures, minimal chemical hazards, vibration, dust, and vehicle noise. You’ll spend most of your time in the office handling administrative tasks.

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
