Position Summary: The Grant Writer is responsible for researching, identifying, and writing compelling grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. This position requires strong research and writing skills, and a passion for supporting mission-driven work. Full training will be provided.
About the Role: As an entry-level Grant Writer, you will work on-site to develop funding proposals, conduct funder research, and communicate with potential supporters. No prior grant writing experience is required—we provide comprehensive training to get you up to speed. You’ll work as part of a supportive team, learning best practices in proposal development and fundraising strategy.
What You’ll Do:
- Research potential funding sources and identify grant opportunities
- Write clear, compelling grant proposals and supporting documentation
- Organize and track multiple projects to meet deadlines
- Communicate with funders, colleagues, and stakeholders
- Edit and proofread proposals for accuracy and clarity
- Maintain detailed records and manage grant writing databases
Skills/Background Needed:
- Strong writing, research, and editing abilities
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
- Interest in mission-driven work (healthcare, nonprofit, or community support)
- Any prior grant writing experience is a bonus, but not required
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required for entry-level applicants.
Location: Local positions available (on-site role).
Contract Length: Full-time, permanent position.
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, full-time hours.
