Contract length: Temporary, part-time (approximately 250 hours total)

Job Summary

You’ll be responsible for developing comprehensive technical reports based on field investigation documentation and project data. This role involves reviewing materials, synthesizing findings into clear written documentation, incorporating feedback from reviewers, and coordinating with team members and agency personnel. No supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive technical reports based on completed field investigations and supporting documentation

• Develop and submit multiple versions of reports in accordance with project requirements and deadlines

• Review field notes, technical data, photographs, maps, records, and other materials provided

• Coordinate with team members to obtain necessary information, clarify findings, and resolve data gaps

• Synthesise field data and findings into clear, technically sound written documentation

• Ensure reports comply with applicable project and federal reporting standards

• Review and respond to feedback following each report submission

• Incorporate requested revisions and document responses to comments as required

• Maintain consistency, accuracy, and quality throughout all versions of reports

• Coordinate with personnel regarding schedules, deliverables, and project status

Skills/background needed:

• Strong technical writing, editing, and document development skills

• Familiarity with cultural resources compliance requirements

• Ability to interpret and translate technical documentation into comprehensive written reports

• Experience working with field data and documentation

• Ability to independently manage writing assignments and meet deadlines

• Strong attention to detail and ability to incorporate feedback and revisions accurately

• Strong written communication and coordination skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment

• Ability to handle sensitive project information in accordance with data-handling requirements

Education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field

• Successful completion of an accredited field school

• Minimum of three years of professional report-writing experience in a related field

• Writing samples required – candidates must provide professional or academic writing samples demonstrating ability to prepare technical reports

Physical requirements:

• Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers and phones

• Ability to remain in a stationary position, primarily seated, for extended periods while performing computer-based work

• Reliable access to required systems throughout assigned working hours

Pre-employment requirements:
