Communications Writer – Entry Level

About the Role
We are seeking a creative, organized, and member-focused Communications Writer to join our team. This position plays an important role in how we communicate with and serve our members. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and communicator who enjoys creating engaging content, managing multiple projects, supporting events, and working with people.

What You’ll Do
Communications & Content Creation
• Create and distribute newsletters, emails, announcements, and member communications
• Manage social media platforms and develop engaging, relevant content
• Create flyers, graphics, promotional materials, and campaigns
• Gather, edit, proofread, and organize content from various team members and leadership
• Maintain a communications calendar to ensure timely promotion of programs, events, and deadlines
• Ensure messaging is accurate, professional, and consistent across all platforms
• Help tell the story of the organization and demonstrate the value of membership
Events & Education Support
• Coordinate new member orientation and educational events
• Schedule instructors, prepare materials, and manage event logistics
• Promote learning opportunities and member engagement activities
• Assist with planning and promotion of meetings, networking events, and programs
Administrative & Website Support
• Provide communication and administrative support to committees and affiliate groups
• Update website content including events, announcements, resources, and information
• Help ensure online information remains accurate, current, and easy to find
• Provide friendly, professional assistance to members and escalate complex issues to leadership
Skills/background needed: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; creativity and comfort developing social media and marketing content; strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects; detail-oriented with strong proofreading abilities; willingness to learn new software and technology; professional and dependable; customer-service focused; ability to work independently and as part of a team; comfort working in a fast-paced environment. Experience with social media, graphic design, email marketing, websites, or event coordination is helpful but not required. No prior experience necessary—full training will be provided.
