We’re seeking an enthusiastic reporter to cover local news and community stories. You’ll be based in an on-site newsroom where you’ll play a vital role in reporting on important community issues and events. The ideal candidate is a great storyteller and content creator who knows how to deliver engaging coverage across multiple platforms. You’ll build meaningful relationships with community leaders, newsmakers, and organizations, regularly generating unique story ideas. You must be able to manage multiple projects effectively based on deadlines and daily news demands.
Responsibilities:
Strong reporting, writing, and interviewing skills
Handle breaking news and event coverage with professionalism
Deliver engaging on-location reporting that stands out
Build sources and relationships to generate unique story ideas
Use social media actively for promotion and news gathering
Participate in community and station public events
Skills/background needed:
Strong journalism and storytelling abilities
Excellent time and resource management
Schedule flexibility, including ability to work holidays and varying shifts
Ability to shoot, edit, and publish content is a plus
Bilingual skills are valued
