Social Media Coordinator – Part Time, Entry Level

About the Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Social Media Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. You’ll help plan, create, and manage social media content across multiple platforms. This is a great entry-level opportunity to build your skills in digital communication, content creation, and community engagement.

You’ll work flexible hours—an average of 20 hours per week—giving you space to balance other commitments while gaining real-world experience in social media management.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll manage and maintain our social media platforms across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and other channels. You’ll create engaging text, image, and video content in collaboration with different departments. You’ll also attend events to capture photos and videos, research story ideas, stay current with social media trends, and respond professionally to community questions and messages.

Other responsibilities include developing content calendars, creating promotional materials like flyers and brochures, editing photos and videos for publication, and supporting administrative tasks as needed.

Skills and Background Needed

We welcome candidates with any combination of experience and education that demonstrates the following abilities:

You should have basic familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, etc.) and some experience writing, editing, and developing content. Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is helpful. Experience with social media scheduling tools and basic photo or video editing is a plus, but not essential—we provide training.

Key abilities include the ability to multitask, manage multiple projects with attention to detail, work flexibly (including some evening and weekend hours), communicate effectively in writing and verbally, and collaborate well with colleagues. You should be organized, creative, motivated, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

A valid driver’s license may be required for some field duties.

What We Offer

This is a temporary, part-time position with flexible working hours. We provide full training on our processes, systems, and tools. You’ll gain hands-on experience in digital communications, content creation, and community engagement—valuable skills for any marketing or communications career.

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Contract length: Temporary, part-time (average 20 hours per week).

Location: Local positions available.

Work Environment

Work is primarily office-based in a moderate noise environment. You’ll need to be able to speak, hear, see, and touch. The role involves some light physical activity—occasionally moving between areas, bending, reaching, and lifting materials up to 25 pounds. You’ll spend time typing, using computers, and working at a desk, and may sit or stand for extended periods. Finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination are required for data entry and computer work.

Selection Process

Qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the selection process, which may include a written assessment and/or oral interview to evaluate your knowledge, experience, and ability to perform the role. Candidates who perform well in testing may move forward to a background investigation (including fingerprinting), a pre-placement medical exam, and drug screening.

If you need reasonable accommodation during the selection process due to a disability, please let us know as early as possible so we can support you.
