About the Role:
We’re looking for entry-level writers and editors to join a student-run publication team. You’ll contribute to content creation, editing, digital storytelling, design, and marketing across multiple formats—from articles and social media to video and multimedia content. No prior experience required; we provide full training and mentorship.
What You’ll Do:
Positions are available across several areas:
Content Creation: Write, edit, and curate stories for news, arts, culture, and community sections. Proofread and fact-check written work to ensure accuracy and clarity.
Digital & Multimedia: Manage social media content, create photo stories, and contribute to video and audio projects.
Design: Create layouts, graphics, and promotional visuals for print and digital formats using design tools.
Marketing: Promote the publication, create promotional materials, and engage with the community.
Operations: Support team coordination, manage distribution, and assist with event logistics.
Skills/Background Needed:
We welcome applicants with any level of experience. The ideal candidate will have:
Basic writing, editing, or design abilities (a portfolio or writing samples are helpful but not required)
Familiarity with tools like Canva, Google Docs, WordPress, or social media platforms
Ability to meet deadlines, work collaboratively, and attend team meetings
Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
Interest in journalism, storytelling, design, or digital media
Preferred but not required: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, video/audio editing, social media management, or AP Style. Bilingual candidates (especially Spanish language skills) are encouraged to apply.
Contract Length: Ongoing, flexible scheduling around your studies
