Communications Manager – Team Leadership, Entry Level

About this role

We’re looking for a Communications Manager to lead a content and communications team. In this role, you’ll provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to a team of communicators, ensuring they deliver clear, engaging content that supports key campaigns and initiatives. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex topics into messages that resonate with audiences.

This is a full-time, entry-level position. We provide full training and support to help you succeed, even if you haven’t held a formal management role before.

What you’ll do

• Lead and manage a team of communicators, providing clear direction and support• Develop content execution plans that align with broader communications strategy• Create integrated communication plans and compelling narratives for major initiatives• Work with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment and consistency• Use feedback and data to assess how well communications are working and suggest improvements• Mentor and coach team members to build a collaborative, high-performing culture• Manage workflows, prioritization and continuous improvement of team processes• Translate complex, technical topics into clear, engaging content across multiple channels• Collaborate with leaders across the organisation to align priorities and drive consistent execution

Skills/background needed

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of experience in a communications role (OR a Master’s degree with 4+ years of communications experience)• Proven experience leading a team of communicators• Strong background in designing and executing communications strategies• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment• Highly organised with strong attention to detail• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)• Experience with collaboration and workflow tools such as Microsoft Lists or similar programmes• Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills• Demonstrated increasing leadership experience• Ability to work in a continuously evolving environment and adapt priorities while maintaining execution excellence

Preferred experience

• Background in consulting or agency work with experience overseeing communications programmes in leadership roles• Ability to distil complex technical processes and content into clear, concise communications• Experience using data to create and execute communications strategies and plans• Understanding of AP writing style• Ability to multi-task and prioritise competing demands
