About the Role:
This is a full-time opportunity to create engaging content spanning creative writing, cultural studies, and educational materials. You’ll develop curricula, teach writing workshops, and produce scholarly or creative work across multiple genres and languages. This role offers the chance to work on interdisciplinary projects while supporting student learning and success.
What You’ll Do:
You’ll create content for courses in creative writing, cultural studies, and literature. Your work will include developing course materials, writing teaching resources, producing original creative pieces (poetry, fiction, or essays), and developing interdisciplinary educational content. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues on cross-departmental projects and contribute to curriculum development that reflects current student needs and emerging trends in the field.
Your Background:
You should have deep knowledge of or lived experience with themes related to immigration, Caribbean and Latin American cultures, bilingualism, border narratives, and social justice. Professional fluency in both English and Spanish is essential. A strong portfolio of published creative or scholarly work is expected, along with demonstrated excellence in creating educational content and mentoring others.
Skills/background needed:
- Earned doctorate or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field
- Proven experience creating high-quality creative or scholarly writing
- Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
- Experience developing educational content and teaching materials
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support diverse learners
- Track record of publishing or publicly sharing original work in respected venues
- Commitment to inclusive, student-centered content creation
