Overview

We are seeking a creative and organised Content Writer & Office Assistant to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to blend creative content creation with essential office support. You will be instrumental in executing digital marketing campaigns and managing social media platforms. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting, possess a passion for digital marketing, and enjoy supporting team success, this position is perfect for you.

We are looking for someone who understands what makes content engaging, has a creative eye, is comfortable creating short-form video, and can independently develop new content ideas.

Work Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–1:00 PM. Approximately 25 hours per week.

This is a 100% in-person position. All editing, posting, social media management, and office duties are performed at our workplace. Remote and hybrid work are not available.

Important Schedule Note

Although this position is normally Monday–Friday from 8:00 AM–1:00 PM, you will also serve as required backup coverage for our receptionist when scheduled off. On those days, you must be available to work 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Advance notice will be provided whenever reasonably possible. The ability to work the full 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule on required receptionist coverage days is a condition of this position.

Social Media & Content Creation

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Travel to local job sites in a company-provided vehicle to capture photographs and videos. Photograph and record employees performing their work and completing projects. Capture before-and-after photos, completed projects, equipment installations, and behind-the-scenes company content.

Return to the office to edit photographs and videos. Create professional short-form videos. Write captions and supporting copy for social media posts. Create and publish a required number of content posts each week as established by management.

Maintain consistent activity on Facebook. Assist with expanding company content to TikTok and other social media platforms. Develop new and creative content ideas independently. Identify current social media trends that could appropriately be incorporated into company content.

Create educational content that provides useful information to customers. Create content highlighting employees, company culture, completed projects, services, promotions, and community involvement. Maintain an organised library of company photographs and video footage.

Review content performance and help identify which types of content generate the strongest engagement.

Content & Creativity Expectations

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys creating content and has an eye for what makes a good photograph, video, or social media post. You will be expected to independently identify content opportunities and regularly bring new ideas to the team.

Content may include: before-and-after projects, employee spotlights, behind-the-scenes footage, educational tips, frequently asked customer questions, new equipment and installations, project highlights, maintenance reminders, seasonal content, promotions and announcements, customer testimonials, community involvement, short-form entertaining or educational videos, relevant social media trends, and company culture content.

The goal is to create content that keeps the company visible, professional, informative, and engaging to current and prospective customers.

Online Reputation Management

You will help maintain the company’s online reputation by monitoring and responding to online reviews. You will create professional and personalised responses to reviews, bring sensitive situations to management when appropriate, maintain a professional company voice, and identify positive customer feedback for future marketing content.

Customer Service & Office Support

While working in the office, you will also assist with customer service when needed. This includes answering overflow telephone calls, professionally communicating with customers, scheduling service calls and appointments, accurately entering customer and job information, taking and relaying messages, assisting customers with general questions, and helping maintain communication between customers and office staff.

These duties are intended to provide overflow support during your normal workday.

Community & Event Support

You may occasionally attend community events, promotional events, and other company activities. Responsibilities may include assisting with event setup, speaking with prospective customers, providing general information regarding company services, distributing promotional materials, assisting with generating interest in services, and capturing photographs and videos during events.

Receptionist Coverage Duties

When providing required backup receptionist coverage (8:00 AM–4:30 PM on scheduled days), you will assume front-office responsibilities including answering and managing incoming telephone calls, scheduling service calls and customer appointments, monitoring the daily schedule, communicating with team members, taking and relaying messages, assisting with customer account questions, and performing other administrative duties necessary to keep the front office operating.

Full training will be provided on company-specific receptionist procedures, scheduling systems, software, and payment-processing procedures.

Skills/background needed:

Applicants should have previous experience creating social media content and experience creating and editing short-form videos. Experience taking and editing photographs and videos is required. Working knowledge of Facebook and other major social media platforms, and familiarity with TikTok and current short-form video trends is essential.

Experience with Canva, video editing software, or similar photo and video editing tools is required. Strong creativity and the ability to independently develop new content ideas are essential. Strong written communication, grammar, and spelling skills are required, as is professional communication and customer-service skills.

You should have a comfortable and professional telephone manner, strong organisational and time-management skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and changing priorities. You must be able to work independently while also coordinating with office and field team members, maintain reliable attendance and punctuality, hold a valid driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record, and be willing to regularly visit active job sites.

Applicants must provide examples of content they have personally created, such as social media posts, videos, photography, or links to a portfolio or social media account. We are interested in seeing your actual creativity and content abilities, not simply a list of software or platforms you have used.

Job-site conditions may include outdoor heat and weather, uneven terrain, construction activity, equipment and machinery, noise, dirt, dust, and other normal field conditions.
