We’re looking for detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Condition Report Writers. This is an entry-level position with full training provided—no prior experience in the automotive industry is necessary. If you’re reliable, organized, and ready to learn, we’d like to hear from you.
About the Role:
You’ll perform vehicle inspections and create detailed condition reports to support the processing and sale of vehicles. This hands-on role combines office work with practical inspection tasks, and you’ll work as part of a collaborative team in a supportive environment.
What You’ll Do:
• Verify vehicle identification and update vehicle information (Year, Make, Model, Trim Lines)
• Inspect vehicle equipment, options, interior, tires, and mechanical components
• Document and estimate vehicle damages accurately
• Take photographs to support and complete reports
• Move vehicles throughout the lot and park them in designated areas
• Review and document odometer information
• Assess frame condition and document any damages
• Assess mechanical condition and record any issues found
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills/background needed:
• Ability to operate a computer, laptop, or tablet
• Ability to write reports in a clear, professional manner
• Basic knowledge of vehicles (we’ll train you on the rest)
• Ability to use standardized lists to assign costs for damage
• Strong attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to prioritize and follow tasks through to completion
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
• Willingness to work outside in various weather conditions
• Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb regularly
• Ability to perform visual inspections underneath vehicles
Education & Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Any post-secondary training in damage assessment is a plus, but not required
• Background in automotive repair or cost estimating is helpful but not necessary
