About this role
We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our engineering team. You will develop and manage documentation that our systems and teams rely on — authoring clear, well-structured guides that help people understand how things work and find the information they need.
This is a writing role at its core. Your success is measured by whether your documentation is clear, well-organized, and easy to navigate. You will write for both human readers and technical systems, making sure information is accurate and findable.
What you’ll do
• Author documentation including guides, runbooks, decision records, schemas, specifications, and glossary terms
• Write clear summaries and descriptions that help readers quickly decide if they need to read more detail
• Organize information in layers so readers encounter the core concept first, then deeper details on demand
• Maintain consistency across a growing collection of documentation — cross-linking, indexing, and keeping entries easy to find
• Interview engineers and developers to understand the reasoning behind decisions and capture that context in writing
• Work with engineering and governance partners to review and approve documentation before it goes live
• Maintain terminology consistency — keeping a glossary updated and resolving naming conflicts early
• Keep documentation current by identifying and removing outdated content as systems change
What you’ll bring
• Ability to write with precision and clarity under length constraints
• Comfort reading primary source material — code, configuration files, infrastructure definitions — and summarizing it accurately
• Strong information architecture instincts: organizing content into logical layers, cross-linking effectively, and guiding readers through complex topics
• Experience or comfort working directly with developers and engineers
• Ability to maintain consistent voice, terminology, and structure across multiple documents
• Familiarity with docs-as-code practice — writing in Markdown, using version control, and understanding how content connects to the systems it describes
• Clear communication skills — you will gather much of your source material through conversation
Nice to have
• Experience writing instructions or reference material for technical systems
• Working knowledge of Git and command-line workflows
• Familiarity with structured content formats like YAML or JSON
• Experience with taxonomy design or knowledge organization
• Background in developer documentation or internal platform documentation
• Basic reading familiarity with Python, TypeScript, Terraform, or similar technical languages
• Experience in regulated industries such as banking or financial services
Skills/background needed: Strong writing ability, technical comprehension, information organization, ability to learn quickly
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application
Contract length: Full Time
Location: On-site position
