Duties & Responsibilities
Learn and apply documentation tools, standards, and processes to create and maintain a wide range of customer-facing content, including guides, manuals, release notes, and online help systems.
Produce documentation that enables customers to successfully deploy, operate, and maintain technology solutions, with a strong focus on clarity, usability, and accessibility.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including engineers, product managers, support staff, and quality assurance—to gather requirements, validate technical accuracy, and ensure documentation aligns with product capabilities and customer needs.
Research and track product requirements, technical specifications, and enhancements; synthesise complex information into clear, concise documentation.
Actively learn and use the products you document to ensure content reflects real-world application.
Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, aligning deliverables with product release cycles while meeting deadlines.
Follow established style guidelines and best practices to ensure consistency across all documentation.
Create and maintain visual assets such as screenshots, diagrams, and workflows that enhance understanding.
Prepare documentation for localisation to ensure global accessibility.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve documentation processes and content.
Participate in agile workflows, including sprint planning and reviews, ensuring documentation remains aligned with product development.
Skills/background needed: Demonstrated experience creating technical or procedural documentation with writing samples that reflect clarity and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while remaining collaborative and responsive to team input. Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deliverables in a dynamic environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clear, accessible language. Proven ability to learn complex technologies quickly and translate technical concepts into user-friendly documentation. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience. A collaborative, accountable mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Preferred experience: Understanding of networking technologies and their application in large-scale systems. Experience using technical documentation tools or similar platforms. Familiarity with the utilities and energy industry. Basic knowledge of Linux or UNIX environments. Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or SQL. Demonstrated ability to contribute innovative ideas that improve documentation quality and team processes.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
