About the Role
We’re looking for a Health Plan Document Writer to help translate complex benefit information into clear, easy-to-understand language for health plan customers. You’ll work on analyzing, drafting, editing and reviewing plan documentation while ensuring everything meets legal and regulatory standards.
This role involves working with health plan language, understanding regulations that impact self-funded plans, and delivering high-quality documentation with careful attention to accuracy and formatting. You may also support team onboarding and training activities as needed.
What You’ll Do
• Translate complex health benefit information into clear, compliant language for plan documents
• Draft, edit and review legal and regulatory plan documentation
• Ensure all documents meet spelling, grammar and formatting standards before delivery to customers
• Understand relevant regulations and laws to keep plans compliant with federal and state requirements
• Manage deadlines effectively and work with minimum supervision
• Support department projects and help train new team members
Skills/Background Needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to catch errors in spelling, grammar and formatting
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and email applications
• High school diploma or equivalent (or relevant work experience)
Full training will be provided in health plan language, compliance requirements and company processes. Prior experience in health plans or document writing is helpful but not essential – we’re happy to train motivated candidates.
