We’re looking for a grant writer to help identify and pursue funding opportunities that align with organizational missions. You’ll research suitable grants, develop compelling applications, and manage the submission process from start to finish. Your work will directly support an organization’s ability to secure funding and expand. This role combines research skills with persuasive writing talent and an understanding of what funders seek in competitive proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Research and identify grant opportunities (foundations, government grants, corporate funding) that match organizational goals and qualifications
Develop and maintain a comprehensive grant tracking system, including deadlines, requirements, and funder guidelines
Analyze grant guidelines and eligibility criteria to assess fit and identify potential barriers
Conduct preliminary outreach to potential funders to clarify requirements and gather additional information
Develop comprehensive grant applications including proposals, budgets, narratives, and supporting documentation
Craft compelling project descriptions and impact statements that clearly articulate organizational value and expected outcomes
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information, data, and documentation for applications
Manage all application submissions, including tracking submission deadlines and ensuring compliance with funder requirements
Maintain detailed records of all submitted applications, funding status, and outcomes
Provide regular progress reports and communications to organizational leadership
Monitor and track funding decisions and manage follow-up communications with funders
Stay informed about current funding trends, new grant opportunities, and funder priorities in relevant sectors
Skills/background needed: Research and analytical skills, grant proposal writing, strong written communication, ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, organizational and project management skills, proficiency with word processing software, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. No prior grant writing experience is required—full training will be provided.
