About this role
You’ll develop clear, accurate technical documentation to support manufacturing and assembly operations. Working closely with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and technicians, you’ll translate engineering drawings, 3D models, and hands-on build knowledge into effective assembly instructions, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation for production use.
What you’ll do
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, parts lists, and specifications to understand product design and assembly intent
• Collaborate with technicians and manufacturing engineers to capture best practices, assembly sequences, tooling requirements, and quality checkpoints
• Create and maintain assembly instructions, manufacturing instructions, work instructions, and visual aids
• Continuously improve documentation based on technician feedback, production issues, and process changes
• Ensure documentation reflects current design revisions and manufacturing processes, incorporating photos, diagrams, exploded views, and annotations
• Participate in cross-functional design and build reviews to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness
• Support new product introduction by developing documentation in parallel with design and build activities
• Maintain document control and revision history in accordance with quality system requirements
• Use modern tools, video, and other technologies to create efficient and user-friendly instruction materials
Skills/background needed
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Technical Writing, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand both system-level intent and assembly-level execution
• Ability to translate complex engineering information into clear, concise, technician-friendly instructions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings; experience with 3D design software is desirable
• Full training will be provided on all tools and processes specific to this role
