Job Title: Technical Writer – Life Sciences Documentation
About the role:
As a Technical Writer, you’ll create clear, accurate technical documents that help scientists and researchers understand and use products effectively. This is a fully remote position where you’ll work independently on most tasks, with guidance available from experienced team members when you need it.
You’ll produce user manuals, protocols, certificates of analysis, technical notes, and other documentation that follows style guidelines and meets high quality standards. This role involves working with product managers, technical support teams, and research and development staff to understand products deeply before documenting them.
What you’ll do:
• Write clear, easy-to-understand user manuals, protocols, and technical documents that conform to departmental standards
• Collaborate with internal teams including product, technical support, and research departments to understand product requirements
• Manage documentation projects to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables
• Maintain and improve the organization of technical documents on websites and internal databases
• Create and maintain reference materials including style guides and work instructions for the writing team
• Review technical content written by colleagues and provide constructive feedback
• Incorporate feedback from technical support and customer needs into documentation updates
• Facilitate communication across teams to meet project timelines and objectives
Skills/background needed:
• Master’s degree or PhD in Molecular Biology or another life science field
• Minimum two years of technical writing experience in a life science company or organization
• Strong organizational and project management abilities
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to plan, complete, and evaluate projects independently
Nice to have:
• Laboratory experience in Molecular Biology or another life science
• Software development experience
Contract length: Full Time
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
