Role: Junior Content Editor

Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Flexible remote work arrangements available.

About the role:
We’re looking for an organised, detail-oriented Junior Content Editor to join our publishing team. In this role, you’ll help acquire and evaluate book manuscripts, work with authors through the publishing process, and support the wider editorial team in bringing quality content to readers.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Evaluating and processing book manuscript submissions and proposals
• Managing manuscript pipelines and keeping track of multiple projects simultaneously
• Coordinating with subject-matter experts and peer reviewers
• Working with authors to guide them through revisions and the publication process
• Preparing materials and documentation for editorial review
• Assessing costs and timelines for book projects
• Contributing to seasonal planning and general publishing operations
• Liaising with editorial, production, marketing, and business teams to keep projects on track
• Supporting the senior editorial team with day-to-day acquisition and publishing tasks
Skills and background needed:
You should have:
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to prioritise and work independently
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and email
• Interest in publishing and scholarly content
• Ability to work collaboratively with authors, colleagues, and external partners
Experience with database management and familiarity with publishing industry trends is a bonus, but not essential.
What we’re looking for:
You’ll have a bachelor’s degree and some experience in publishing or book acquisition, or a master’s degree with relevant experience.
