About this role:
We’re looking for a motivated self-starter to join our news team as a Multimedia Journalist. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to learn and grow in journalism without the pressure of a larger market. You’ll work fully remote, developing your skills across all aspects of modern news production.
What you’ll do:
As a Multimedia Journalist, your day-to-day will include:
- Developing story ideas from concept through completion
- Shooting, editing, and producing video content
- Publishing original, timely content across digital and social platforms
- Meeting daily deadlines for broadcast and web publication
- Responding promptly to breaking and developing news
- Working flexibly to adapt to the changing news landscape
Skills/background needed:
You don’t need extensive experience to apply. We’re looking for:
- A degree in journalism, communications, or a related field (or equivalent real-world experience)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- A valid driver’s license
- Experience with video editing software is helpful but not required – we’ll train you
- A portfolio or demo reel of your work (even student projects or volunteer experience counts)
