About the role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Junior Technical Writer to develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation including reports, test plans, and other technical materials. You’ll work with engineers and subject matter experts to ensure all documentation is clear, accurate, and consistent.

No prior experience is necessary – full training will be provided. We’re looking for someone with strong writing skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

What you’ll do

• Develop, write, format, and edit technical documentation such as test plans, reports, standards, and proposals

• Review and edit documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established formats and standards

• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and clarity

• Prepare documents for publication in electronic formats, ensuring proper organisation and coherence

• Research background materials and previously published documents to ensure consistency with established formats

• Assist in creating technical illustrations and audiovisual presentations using standard design tools

• Develop documentation from drawings, sketches, or incomplete materials

• Maintain organised records and files of work and revisions

• Support the creation of operations manuals, training materials, systems specifications, and procedures

Skills/background needed

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Strong editing and proofreading skills – ability to identify and correct errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation

• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Ability to understand and apply document formatting and layout principles

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills – comfortable working with technical staff and subject matter experts

• Proficiency with standard software applications including Microsoft Word and Google Docs

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments

Desirable experience

• Any prior experience in technical writing or editing (not required)

• Familiarity with test documentation and procedures
