We are seeking an entry-level journalist to join our team. You’ll create compelling stories across multiple platforms, combining strong writing with multimedia skills. If you’re a creative storyteller with a passion for news and community engagement, we’d like to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and pitch story ideas• Conduct interviews and research to find credible sources• Write, shoot, produce and edit content for online and broadcast platforms• Meet regular deadlines while maintaining quality standards• Enhance stories using creative production techniques, graphics, and multimedia elements• Use social media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content• Participate in editorial meetings and contribute daily story ideas• Write in a clear, engaging and authentic style• Deliver live reporting on developing and breaking news situations
Skills/background needed:
• 1–3 years of reporting experience preferred (entry-level candidates with strong portfolios encouraged to apply)• Strong writing skills and ability to craft compelling narratives• Solid news judgment and ethical decision-making• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to work under constant deadlines and handle breaking news situations calmly• Experience with social media and digital content creation• Proficiency with standard editing software• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various locations for assignments
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
