We’re hiring an entry-level multimedia journalist to join our news team. No prior experience required—we provide full training and support as you grow in this role.
About the role:
You’ll work across all aspects of news gathering and storytelling. Your responsibilities will include researching and pitching story ideas, shooting and editing video content, conducting interviews, and publishing stories across our website and social media channels. You’ll have opportunities to cover breaking news, community events, and stories that matter to local audiences.
This is a hands-on position where you’ll develop skills in video production, writing, and digital publishing. You’ll work with experienced journalists who are committed to supporting your professional development through regular feedback and coaching.
Skills/background needed:
Strong writing and storytelling ability, creative mindset, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Experience with video editing software (such as Adobe Premiere Pro) is helpful but not essential—we’ll train you. Social media experience on platforms like Facebook and Twitter is a bonus. You must be comfortable working independently and be physically able to carry equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. A valid driver’s license is required.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
