ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a foundational social media role where you’ll be the first dedicated hire building and growing the company’s organic social media presence. You’ll establish content calendars, community engagement practices, reporting systems, and the workflows needed to scale social channels over time. You’ll work across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and other platforms, and help evaluate expansion into emerging channels as the brand grows.

This is a hands-on position. You’ll create content, write captions, direct creative teams, manage community interactions, analyze performance data, and coordinate closely with other team members on strategy and execution. As the brand evolves, you’ll help shape content strategy and lead channel expansion.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Organic Social Management

Own and manage the content calendar across Instagram, Facebook, and other organic channels. Write captions and guide creative assets while maintaining brand voice and standards. Direct the creative team for video content, static posts, Stories, and campaigns. Create social content directly when needed, including copywriting, graphic design, and mobile-first content capture. Manage community engagement by responding to messages, comments, and mentions in a timely, on-brand manner. Develop and maintain consistent posting schedules with a mix of educational, promotional, and community-driven content. Monitor social conversations, audience sentiment, competitor activity, and emerging trends to identify content opportunities.

Paid Social Execution

Support the team in executing paid social campaigns across Facebook and Instagram. Propose creative concepts and audience ideas based on organic performance data. Monitor and report on paid social performance, and surface insights to relevant team members. Ensure paid social creative aligns with organic brand voice and content standards.

Brand Voice & Founder Content

Maintain and apply the founder’s educational voice across all social content. Coordinate content shoots and plan future live sessions and long-form content programming as it develops. Help identify content opportunities that strengthen the founder’s authority and audience engagement.

Community Management

Manage community interactions according to company policies and regulatory requirements. Escalate customer service issues, product feedback, sensitive inquiries, and other matters to appropriate internal teams. Ensure all social media content complies with applicable guidelines and industry standards. Maintain brand-safe community management practices across all channels.

Analytics & Reporting

Track and report on key organic metrics including follower growth, engagement rate, reach, impressions, and community response rates. Monitor paid social performance and prepare reports for the team. Use data to identify which content formats, topics, and posting schedules are driving results. Deliver recurring performance summaries and provide recommendations based on audience behavior and platform trends.

Social Operations & Process Development

Establish scalable workflows, content planning processes, reporting frameworks, and community management standards. Help evaluate and implement social media management and scheduling tools. Build documentation and best practices that support future team growth and channel expansion.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with other team members on strategy, creative briefing, and performance reporting. Brief and direct asset production from the creative team. Collaborate with the customer care team to gather insights on customer questions, feedback, and sentiment to inform content decisions.

Platform Expansion

Help evaluate and lead expansion into new social platforms including YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, and LinkedIn. Recommend timing, prioritization, and resource requirements for new channel launches. Bring platform knowledge and best practices to inform the approach for each expansion.

SKILLS & BACKGROUND NEEDED

You’ll be successful in this role if you:

Write clearly and persuasively across different social formats. Understand brand voice and can maintain it consistently. Direct creative teams and provide clear creative briefs. Read and interpret social media analytics and platform data. Manage community engagement with a customer-first mindset. Work hands-on—you’re comfortable creating content, writing copy, and designing simple graphics when needed. Use common social media tools and platforms. Stay curious about social media trends and emerging platforms. Collaborate well with team members across different functions. Manage multiple projects and posting schedules without losing track.

No prior experience is required. Full training will be provided on the company’s brand, voice, processes, and tools.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Familiarity with Canva, Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Meta Ads Manager, or similar social media tools is helpful but not required. Experience with video platforms like YouTube or emerging platforms like TikTok is a bonus. Any background in social media marketing, community management, or content creation is valuable.
