We’re looking for an Architectural Specifications Writer to join our team. In this role, you’ll develop project specifications and provide technical guidance to architecture teams throughout the design and construction process. You’ll work on large-scale, technically complex projects involving both interiors and exteriors, developing and maintaining relationships with product representatives, and assisting teams with product and system research.
This is a remote position where you’ll collaborate with multiple project teams across different geographic locations using team chat and video conferencing.
What you’ll be doing:
• Develop project specifications for architecture teams
• Provide technical advice during design and construction phases
• Research products and systems to support project teams
• Connect teams with manufacturers and product representatives
• Assist with construction administration activities
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams in a virtual environment
• Work independently and collaboratively to manage multiple priorities
Skills/background needed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited school
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in architecture
• At least 5 years of experience developing specifications
• Experience with pharmaceutical or life sciences projects
• Solid understanding of construction detailing and how buildings are constructed
• Knowledge of building codes and regulatory requirements
• Experience responding to construction-related inquiries and reviewing submittals
• Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary team structures
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, OneNote, and similar tools
• Strong writing, speaking, and listening skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to balance multiple priorities
Preferred experience:
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Experience with sustainable certification systems
• Professional architecture degree or registered architect license
• Familiarity with industry-standard design and documentation software
• Involvement in professional associations or community organizations
• Relevant professional certifications in the architecture or construction fields
