About the Role
We’re looking for a customer-focused, detail-oriented professional to join our team supporting claimants and employers. You’ll play an important role in helping people navigate their claims, reviewing documentation, and ensuring accurate case resolution. This is a long-term seasonal position lasting approximately ten months from your start date.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
• Answer incoming calls and respond to chat inquiries from claimants with professionalism and empathy
• Guide applicants through claim requirements and explain next steps
• Review supporting documents to verify completeness and accuracy
• Document claimant information in our system following established procedures
• Monitor pending files to keep cases moving forward on schedule
• Follow up with claimants or team members when additional information is needed
• Complete assigned tasks related to claim processing and case resolution
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure all interactions meet privacy and compliance standards
• Identify issues and escalate them to the appropriate department
• Prepare clear case notes that document facts and support accurate decision-making
• Advise claimants and employers of their appeal rights and procedures
• Perform related duties as assigned
Skills and Background You’ll Need
• Basic to moderate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to operate standard office equipment including phones, computers, and scanners
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to understand and apply rules, policies, and procedures accurately
• Excellent attention to detail and fact-finding skills
• Ability to gather information by asking clear questions and reviewing documents
• Ability to organize information according to procedures and record it accurately
• Basic math and simple accounting skills
• Ability to meet deadlines consistently
• Ability to connect with and treat people from all backgrounds with respect
• Ability to interact with empathy, especially with people who may be stressed
• Strong working relationships and teamwork skills
• Ability to give clear instructions, both written and verbal
• Problem-solving and quick decision-making skills, even under pressure
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Sound judgment and the ability to work independently
Experience Required
You’ll need at least two years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) professional experience in roles such as: interviewing, counseling, employment support, claims processing, claims examination, investigation, social work, or related casework.
OR equivalent substitutions: An Associate’s degree may substitute for one year of required experience, and a Bachelor’s degree or higher may substitute for all required experience.
No prior experience in this specific field is necessary—we provide full training to help you succeed.
