Role: Communications Coordinator
Contract length: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week

About the role
We’re looking for a creative communicator to help us tell our mission-driven story and build stronger connections with our community. You’ll develop engaging content, manage social media, coordinate outreach efforts, and help increase our visibility—all while working from home on a flexible part-time schedule.
This is a perfect entry-level role if you’re passionate about communications, community engagement, and storytelling. You’ll work closely with our leadership team, learn from experienced professionals, and have real impact on how we connect with the people we serve.
What you’ll be doing
Communications & Content Creation
• Write and develop engaging content for our website, social media, newsletters, and email campaigns• Create stories that showcase our impact and mission in authentic, compelling ways• Write and edit marketing, event, and outreach materials• Help develop consistent messaging that clearly communicates who we are and what we do• Coordinate the design and production of promotional materials
Social Media & Digital Engagement
• Develop and manage social media content calendars• Create platform-specific posts for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn• Engage with followers and community partners to build awareness• Track social media performance and use insights to improve future content
Community Outreach & Public Relations
• Identify opportunities to increase our visibility in the community• Coordinate speaking engagements and presentation materials• Draft and distribute press releases and organizational announcements• Support media relations and serve as a point of contact for inquiries• Represent us at community events and networking opportunities when needed• Collaborate with our team to turn community awareness into partnerships and support
What we’re looking for
• Strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail• Experience with or willingness to learn social media management (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn)• Comfort using design tools like Canva• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Google Docs• Great organizational and time-management skills• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships• Initiative and creativity in identifying new opportunities• Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team member• Commitment to handling sensitive information with discretion and respect
