Communications Manager – Remote Entry Level

About the Role

We’re looking for a Communications Manager to help shape how we tell our company story to customers, media partners, investors, and team members. You’ll create a clear communications roadmap that positions the company as innovative and forward-thinking. You’ll connect product updates, business milestones, partnerships, and company culture into cohesive narratives that matter to the people we serve. You’ll own both external and internal communications, develop thought leadership content for senior leaders, and help match company priorities with high-impact opportunities across media, podcasts, and industry events.

What You’ll Do

• Build an integrated communications roadmap across leadership, business growth, product innovation, and company culture

• Write compelling communications materials, including ghostwritten content for senior leaders, press releases, and internal messaging

• Grow media coverage by pitching stories to relevant outlets and building relationships with journalists

• Build thought leadership opportunities for company executives through media placements, podcasts, and industry speaking

• Manage external communications partners and coordinate day-to-day partnership activities

• Own corporate communications materials: team pages, press releases, and leadership presentations

• Partner across teams to identify newsworthy stories and build a consistent communications pipeline

• Create internal playbooks that help the company tell its story consistently

• Track impact across awareness, credibility, media quality, executive visibility, and engagement

Who You Are

• You’re an excellent, independent writer who can create compelling content in your own voice and others’

• You think in connected narratives rather than one-off announcements

• You’re comfortable telling human-interest stories and technical product stories with equal skill

• You have real relationships with media contacts or the ability to build them quickly

• You’re comfortable working with senior leaders, preparing them for media appearances and advising on visibility

• You naturally use AI tools in your work to move faster and improve output

• You work well independently with trust and minimal oversight

• You’re available during business hours and can be flexible for occasional time-sensitive moments

Skills/Background Needed

• Prior experience in communications, PR, journalism, or a related writing field (or equivalent demonstrated writing ability)

• Strong writing and editing skills

• Familiarity with media landscape and news cycles

• Comfort with AI tools and willingness to learn new platforms

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Why This Role Matters

You’ll help build a proactive communications function from the ground up, not maintain an existing plan. You’ll have direct access to senior leadership and shape how the company is understood by key audiences. This is a high-visibility role where your work directly influences the company’s reputation and reach.
