We’re looking for a creative, thoughtful communicator to help tell important stories and share meaningful messages with our community.
This role brings together storytelling, content creation, social media, and digital communications to connect people with our mission and the work we do. From compelling newsletter content to engaging social media posts, internal communications, media outreach, and special publications, you’ll ensure our message is clear, authentic, and reaches people across every channel.
This is an opportunity for someone who loves finding and telling meaningful stories—and who wants their work to contribute to something larger than themselves. No prior communications experience is required; full training and support will be provided.
What You’ll Do:
• Write and help produce regular newsletters, magazines, and other written communications
• Create engaging content for social media platforms
• Photograph events and maintain digital files
• Maintain and update the organization’s website and social media platforms
• Work with media outlets to share stories and arrange interviews
• Coordinate multiple projects and communicate with team members across departments
• Support the advancement team with marketing materials and donor communications
• Learn basic video production techniques on the job
Skills/Background Needed:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to write clear, engaging content for different audiences and formats
• Familiarity with social media platforms and how to use them
• Basic photography skills (or willingness to learn)
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with different teams
• Comfort with learning new tools and staying current with media trends
• Respect for organizational values and mission-driven work
A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred but not required. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds who demonstrate strong communication skills and a genuine interest in this work.
