Communications Specialist – Remote Entry Level

We’re looking for a Communications Specialist to join our marketing team on a fully remote basis. In this role, you’ll own how our company shows up in the world—through press coverage, social media, internal communications, and community engagement. You’ll report to marketing leadership and work closely with the full marketing team.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll set strategy and execute the work. If you enjoy owning a company’s voice across multiple channels and want the autonomy to shape that strategy yourself, this could be a great fit.

What you’ll own:

Public Relations: Work with external PR partners to develop story angles and campaigns. Help prepare company leadership for interviews and media briefings. Write press releases and statements, and track media coverage performance.

Executive Communications: Write content for company leaders, including LinkedIn posts, talking points, and thought leadership pieces. Turn leadership perspectives into content that reflects the company’s brand voice.

Internal and External Communications: Write company announcements, leadership updates, and employee-facing communications. Help manage consistent, accurate messaging across all audiences, including in sensitive situations.

Social Media: Own social media strategy and day-to-day execution across platforms like LinkedIn. Manage content calendars, track performance, and refine what’s working.

Community Engagement: Build an authentic presence in online communities where your industry’s practitioners spend time. Help team members engage as credible voices in conversations.

How you’ll work:

You’ll partner closely with the full marketing team and company leadership to align messaging and priorities. You’ll operate independently on a small, fast-moving team, balancing multiple workstreams. You’ll use good judgment about when and how to engage authentically across every channel and audience.

Skills/background needed:

Experience in communications, PR, or social media (entry-level candidates welcome with demonstrable interest and learning). Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone across press releases, executive communications, internal updates, and social content. Hands-on experience with social media platforms and content management tools. Familiarity with online communities and the judgment to engage authentically rather than promotionally.

Nice to have:

Background in technology, security, or enterprise software industries.

What you’ll gain:

The opportunity to shape how your company is perceived by the press, customers, and your industry community. Direct partnership with company leadership on high-visibility work. The chance to build and grow the communications function as the company scales.

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Contract length: Ongoing

Location: Open to applicants worldwide. Fully remote position.

We are committed to building an inclusive workplace and equal opportunity for all applicants.
