Communications Writer – Energy Sector, Remote

About This Role

We’re looking for a Communications Writer to help build and develop our marketing and communications function. You’ll create clear, credible external-facing content by turning business activity, market insights, and subject-matter expertise into communications that resonate with our audiences.

This role is ideal for someone with strong writing skills and a genuine interest in the energy industry. You’ll explain complex topics in a clear, business-relevant way and work across multiple communication channels.

What You’ll Do

Content Development

Develop and manage content that supports our external presence and business priorities. You’ll interview internal stakeholders to identify business updates, market insights, and thought leadership opportunities. You’ll write and edit website copy, LinkedIn posts, articles, project updates, fact sheets, talking points, executive messages, and presentation content. You’ll help maintain consistent voice and messaging across all communications materials.

Media Relations and External Communications

Support media planning and help identify relevant reporters and publications. You’ll draft media pitches, press materials, backgrounders, Q&A documents, and briefing materials. You’ll monitor industry news and help prepare executives for interviews and speaking opportunities.

Digital and Social Media

Manage content planning and execution across our digital channels. You’ll develop and maintain our LinkedIn content calendar, coordinate website updates, and support performance reporting. You’ll recommend improvements based on engagement and business priorities.

Business and Executive Communications

Support the development of company overviews, capability summaries, sales materials, and event materials. You’ll work with teams across the business to ensure materials are accurate and aligned with messaging. You’ll also draft and edit leadership messages, internal announcements, and presentation materials.

Communications Operations

Build and maintain planning tools, content calendars, and approval workflows. You’ll coordinate review processes with business leaders and other stakeholders, manage timelines for deliverables, and support vendor coordination.

Skills and Background Needed

Strong writing and editing skills are essential. You should have excellent business writing ability, sound editorial judgment, and the ability to identify what is newsworthy and relevant to external audiences. You’ll need strong organisational and project management discipline, the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and excellent interpersonal skills. You should be comfortable working across different teams and balancing speed, accuracy, and business priorities. Sound judgment in handling confidential information is important.
